Elizabeth and Spencer's Wedding Video * May 2014

     When I first met with Elizabeth to discuss her wedding photography, she mentioned an interest in having some video footage captured (mostly of the vows and ceremony).  I was excited to take on the challenge of both capturing the photographs (with my photo partner, Aaron), and shooting as much video as I could without taking away from the still images.  When everything was said and done, I realized I had enough footage to make a little 'montage' video out of it mixed with stills.  Elizabeth and Spencer picked out a song for me to edit to, and this was the result.  I think it came out really nice, and captures the essence of the day.  I would love to hear what you think about it, and am curious how many others would be interested in this photo/video hybrid kind of thing at their ceremony… or even during a portrait session.

Lilli's First Birthday Shoot - City Park in Alvin, Texas

Christy, Chris, Ava and Lilli met me at the city park here in Alvin on this fine morning last month.  Lilli had just turned one year old and her parents wanted to commemorate it with a photo shoot.  This great little walking bridge goes right over Mustang Bayou.  It sure was a hot Texas June morning, but I think we did alright, and they looked great!

Elizabeth and Spencer - A Wedding in Late Spring

A beautiful Spring day and the Tiki Island chapel made a nice setting for a lovely wedding for these two.  The amazing Aaron Soderberg assisted me on on this one, and did an excellent job (as always)!

I don't think we could have asked for better light and weather, and Elizabeth and Spencer's wedding day turned out to be just as nice! (Images from that day will follow soon.)  Elizabeth was a joy to work with, and I couldn't agree more with what I heard someone else say at the wedding - "Elizabeth is the absolute opposite of a 'Bridezilla'".  So true!

The Matlock's 40th Wedding Anniversary Shoot

Got the opportunity to shoot the Matlock Family here in Alvin - making it my first official session here in town.  Here's to new beginnings!  I've included a few favorites from the shoot, which was just before the Matlock's 40th wedding anniversary party.  And this tree…. my goodness, this tree.  Steven Matlock (he and his wife, Holly's, wedding and engagement photos I shot in 2012, further back on the blog) found this ancient Live Oak tree on the edge of town.  It made for an excellent backdrop for this awesome family session.

A little backyard fun in the spring.

I'm always trying out new settings, equipment, and techniques in photography, so I am constantly in need of test subjects.  Though not always 100% willing, my son serves as a perfect model for this.  Here he is soaking up some springtime sun and air!
